Treatment Programs
Post-D Program
Chesterfield Detention Home’s Post-Dispositional (Post-D) Program was established in 2004. Governed by the Code of Virginia and certified by the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ), this is a six-month program that provides the court judges, who preside in Chesterfield and Colonial Heights, an alternative to committing juveniles to the Department of Juvenile Justice. Services are designed to meet the individual behavioral, educational and treatment needs of the residents, while they remain connected to their families and community.
Objectives
- Incorporate awareness, accountability, and responsibility to aid the residents in reclaiming their futures by assisting them to achieve behavioral and cognitive changes
- Facilitate resilience in development to risk factors and encourage engagement with their families and positive activities within the community
Referrals
