Officer of the Court Remote Access (OCRA)

The Circuit Court Clerk makes case file images available off-site by subscription service through a secure system called Officer of the Court Remote Access (OCRA). OCRA contains non-confidential civil and criminal case images filed/received in the Chesterfield Circuit Court Clerk’s Office from December 2015 forward. Pursuant to Virginia law, OCRA is available to:

  • Attorneys/Law Firms
    • Members in good standing with the Virginia State Bar (VSB) and their authorized agents
    • Pro hac vice attorneys authorized by the court for purposes of the practice of law
  • Government Users including governmental entities with an ongoing business need for court case information (complimentary access)

For system-related assistance or for questions relating to OCRA subscription/application requirements, email the Clerk’s Office or call 804-748-1241 during public service hours and request to speak with a staff member that can assist with OCRA.

Hard copy case records are available in the Clerk’s Office.

Subscribe to Chesterfield OCRA

Attorneys/Law Firms
To gain access to Chesterfield's OCRA, complete the OCRA Application and Subscriber Agreement (PDF). Note that attorneys must provide a copy of their VSB card.

There is an annual subscription fee of $100 per user; view payment options. Do not provide credit card information by mail or email; if intending to pay by credit card, include a note to that effect and the Clerk’s Office will call you to obtain payment information.

Submit the completed application (PDF form, VSB card (if applicable) and payment (if applicable)) to the Circuit Court by email or mail to:
