Citizens' Budget Advisory Committee

Purpose

To assist the Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors in the evaluation and allocation of resources in accordance with the strategic plan to ensure a high quality of life.

The work of the committee is designed to provide guidance to the Board of Supervisors in meeting Chesterfield’s strategic goals. The Citizen’s Budget Advisory Committee will: Review the county’s existing strategic plan, financial policies and budget process. Review historical expenditure, staffing and performance data to report on whether resource allocations furthered County priorities and department’s progress toward meeting goals. 

Work with County staff during development of the budget to advise the Board on resource allocations relative to alignment with Chesterfield’s strategic goals. Review projected revenue and expenditure activity relative to budgeted amounts and provide advice on options to compensate for variances.

  • Proposing quarterly meetings year-round and others as needed.
