Request for Income Deduction Order

Respondents (persons owing child support) may file a request for income deduction order directly with the Clerk’s Office. Once filed, and without a hearing, the Court will enter an Order requiring income deduction of support payments, and send it directly to your employer.

  • Custodial parents who are owed child support may also file a request for income deduction order directly with the Clerk’s Office if they know the respondent’s employer’s information.
  • Once filed, the Court will docket the motion and send notice to the respondent.
  • No appearance is necessary unless the respondent objects to the proposed income deduction order.
    • If the respondent objects, he/she should notify the Court within 10 days of the date of notice, and the petitioner and respondent will be summoned to Court for a hearing.
    • If the Court does not receive notice of the respondent’s contest within 10 days of notice, the income deduction order will be entered as proposed.
