Juvenile Traffic Cases

Important Information about your hearing

  • Minors charged with moving violations and other traffic-related offenses are heard daily in the J&DR courthouse, from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
  • If you are ticketed by a law enforcement officer (Chesterfield Police or Sheriff, Virginia State Police, or Park Ranger), your Virginia Uniform Summons will tell you what day to appear in our Court.
  • You must appear with your parent or guardian at 8:30 a.m.

At trial

  • Youth convicted of traffic-related cases may be ordered to complete community service, participate in a driver’s improvement clinic, or attend (with their parent) the Youth and Parent Perceptive Driving Seminar.
  • Even if your case is taken under advisement to be dismissed upon compliance with one of these programs, you will still owe court fines and costs.
