Route 1 (Dwight Avenue – Gettings Lane) Shared-Use Path

About

A shared-use path will be constructed along northbound Route 1 between Dwight Lane and Gettings Drive. 

This project extends the existing bike and pedestrian access from Bellwood Road, is part of the Fall Line Trail network, and provides better access to existing bus stops in the area.

Traffic Impacts

Route 1 will remain open at all times though lane closures during off peak hours may be required.

Project timeline

Preliminary engineering is underway.  Construction is planned for the spring of 2024.
