Volunteer Program
Be part of a dedicated group of volunteers who support and assist the operations of the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office. If you are interested in volunteering contact the Sheriff’s Office by emailing the Volunteer Liaison. You may also call 804-706-2507.
To become a volunteer with the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office, a candidate must:
- Complete a Volunteer Application (PDF)
- Successfully complete a Volunteer Pre-screening Worksheet (PDF)

The hours for these volunteer position are flexible.
Clerical Assistant
Provides clinical and / or clerical support to the jail medical unit. Previous support experience in a medical environment helpful, but not necessary.
Courier
Picks up and delivers mail within county complex and related tasks as needed. Requires operation of a vehicle.
Greeter – Courthouse Lobby
Greets citizens as they enter the courthouses and assists with answering general questions such as docket times, courtroom/office locations, etc.
Jail Programs Instructor
The jail provides numerous counseling and rehabilitation programs in partnership with nonprofit organizations. If you are interested in providing these types of services, contact us and we will assist you in working with existing providers.
Logistics Technician
Assists in the management and issuance of stored agency uniforms, equipment and supplies. Assists with maintaining the department’s vehicle fleet.
Office / Clerical Assistant
