CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred in the westbound lanes of Iron Bridge Road at the Route 288 overpass at about 9:04 p.m. on Monday, April 13.
Police said the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu was driving west on Iron Bridge Road prior to running off the left side of the roadway into the median. The vehicle over-corrected and crossed all westbound lanes before striking a tree. The driver was pronounced deceased on scene.
Police are withholding the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin. Police continue their investigation into this incident.
