CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Chesterfield Police are searching for a missing man who was last seen in the Appomattox River near the Campbell’s Bridge, located at 21600 Chesterfield Avenue, around 7:15 p.m. on Friday, May 15.
Police responded to the area after witnesses reported that an adult African American male appeared to be treading water and in distress. Responding officers arrived on scene and the male could not be located. The Chesterfield police and Fire & EMS were assisted by several other agencies during the search. At this time, the search has been suspended and will resume tomorrow, May 16, 2020.
