CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Police are actively seeking a suspect who shot at and wounded a Chesterfield County Police officer in the 5400 block of Remuda Drive on Wednesday, May 27.
At about 8:45 p.m., police responded to a reported shooting in the 5400 block of Remuda Drive. Responding officers observed a suspicious vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle stopped and a passenger exited the vehicle, fired several rounds at officers and fled. One officer was struck in his leg; he had non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody without further incident.
Officers have set up a perimeter in the area and remain on scene actively seeking the suspect, who is described as a black male in black clothing. Police are urging residents in the area to stay inside their homes and call 911 immediately if they observe any suspicious activity and/or have any information about the suspect or incident.
