CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – A Chesterfield County woman died at a Richmond hospital this afternoon after being taken into emergency custody in Chesterfield County earlier in the day.
At about 12:34 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, Chesterfield County Police responded to the 20900 block of Truth Drive for a report of a woman standing outside yelling. Once on scene, the officers determined the woman was experiencing a mental health crisis and, after consultation with Chesterfield County Mental Health, took her into emergency custody without incident. The woman was transported by Chesterfield County Fire & EMS to Richmond Community Hospital. While undergoing a health screening at the hospital, the woman’s condition deteriorated rapidly and she died at about 5 p.m. on Aug. 5.
Richmond Police are investigating the woman’s death and Chesterfield County Police are assisting with their investigation.
