CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Police have arrested two men in relation to a shooting incident that occurred in the 4100 block of Lamplighter Court at about 1:50 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8.
At about 1:50 a.m. on Aug. 8, police responded to a reported assault with a deadly weapon at a residence the 4100 block of Lamplighter Drive. Upon arrival, officers found an injured adult male, identified as Timothy A. Drewry II, 29, in the residence. Outside, officers found a second injured adult male, identified as Dean A. Rumph, 27. Both men were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation indicates that both men, who are known to each other, were at the apartment when an argument began and Rumph was asked to leave. Rumph initially left, but soon returned, reentered the apartment and struck Drewry in the head with a handgun. Drewry then fired a handgun at Rumph, striking him in the hand. At some point during the incident, Rumph fired his gun into the air.
Both men were arrested. Rumph, of the 2800 block of Magnus Lane in Richmond, was charged with malicious wounding, breaking and entering, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and discharging a firearm in a public place. Drewry, of the 10700 block of James River Drive in Prince George, was charged with reckless handling of a firearm.
