CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Police have arrested one suspect and are seeking a second in relation to a homicide that occurred in the 3300 block of Main Street on Aug. 17.
On Monday, August 17, police responded to the 3300 block of Main Street for a report of a male victim laying in a yard. The victim, identified as Antwan M. Bowers, 30, of the 1600 block of Crater Road in Petersburg, was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Tuesday, Aug. 18, police obtained a warrant for Hakeem D. Thomas, 31, for second-degree murder in relation to this incident. Thomas, of the 200 block of New Street in Petersburg, was arrested in Boston, Mass., after an unrelated traffic stop there on August 25. He is being held on local charges in Boston, and will eventually be extradited back to Chesterfield to appear before a judge on the murder charge.
Also on Aug. 18, police obtained a warrant for Desiree S. Horton, 21, for accessory after the fact in relation to the incident. Police are still seeking Horton, of the 200 block of New Street in Petersburg.
