CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Chesterfield County Police have arrested a man who sexually assaulted a juvenile male he met through a social media application.
In February 2020, police received a report that on Jan. 3, 2020, a 14-year-old male was sexually assaulted by an unknown male suspect he had met through a social media application. As detectives continued to investigate that incident, they began investigating a second incident in which an unknown suspect had arranged to meet a juvenile male for sex.
When the suspect arrived at the meeting location, he was apprehended by police and identified as Onkar S. Sandhu, 40. The investigation indicates that Sandhu, of the 4800 block of Tooley Drive, had asked the juvenile to engage in sexual acts.
On August 26, 2020, Sandhu was arrested and charged with taking indecent liberties with a child and use of electronic device to facilitate sex in the second incident. He was released on bond on Sept. 1.
After further investigation, detectives obtained warrants for Sandhu for forcible sodomy and taking indecent liberties with a child in relation to the Jan. 3, 2020 incident. He was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 2, and is currently being held without bond at the Chesterfield County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing and detectives believe Sandhu may have additional victims. Anyone with information should contact the Chesterfield County Police Department at 804-748-1251.
