CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Chesterfield County Police continue to investigate a fatal crash that occurred on Midlothian Turnpike near Karl Linn Drive at about 1:25 a.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2021.
Police said a man was in a wheelchair in the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling east on Midlothian Turnpike. The victim, identified as Riley O. James Sr., 62, of the 5800 block of Westower Drive in Richmond, was transported to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries. The driver of the striking vehicle remained on scene.
