CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Chesterfield Police have arrested the individual involved in a suspicious incident that was an abduction from Saturday.
On March 13, 2021, police responded to the area of N. White Mountain Drive and Rotunda Lane for a report of a suspicious incident. On scene, police viewed a homeowner's surveillance video which appears to show a person exit a vehicle, assault a female, and forcibly put her into the vehicle. The vehicle then flees the area turning right onto N. Enon Church Road.
On March 14, with the assistance of the community, police located the female victim from the abduction, and she was safe. After conducting a thorough investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Drequan Maurice Franklin. Franklin, 26, of the 1700 block of Clarkson Road was taken into custody and has been charged with abduction, domestic assault, possession of a schedule I or II drug and possession of a firearm while in possession of a schedule I or II drug. He is currently being held in the Chesterfield County Jail without bond.
