CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA — Residents and businesses now have a new online resource to pinpoint several local, state and national indicators weighing into the overall economic pulse of Chesterfield.
Members of Chesterfield’s Budget and Management Department recently unveiled the county’s Key Financial Indicators Dashboard website to the public.
The new online dashboard will replace years of printed quarterly key financial indicator reports, and all information provided in the dashboard is updated either daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly depending on the data set.
To strengthen fiscal oversight and be transparent stewards of taxpayer money, the Chesterfield Budget and Management Department reviews and evaluates several key economic indicators on a regular basis. Now, residents and businesses have 24-hour access to data, charts and graphs reviewed by top Chesterfield leaders about the overall fiscal and economic wellness of the county.
The Chesterfield Key Financial Indicators web portal is organized into eight sections:
- Monthly Reports
- Travel Statistics
- Consumer Spending
- Employment and Labor Force
- Economic Pulse
- Finance and Budget
- Local Housing and Real Estate
- Community and Demographics
From each section, residents and businesses can navigate a variety of data that is used in several of the county’s budget making processes, which includes job opening and labor turnover; Amtrak ridership statistics and single-family home median sales price.
