CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Police have located a man wanted in relation to a homicide that occurred in the 7800 block of Provincetown Drive on May 2.
At about 2:30 a.m. on May 2, 2021, police were called to the area of the 7800 block of Provincetown Drive for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police discovered a female and male suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The male victim, William A. Simpson IV, 27, of 3700 block of King and Queen Drive, died as a result of his injuries.
Detectives obtained warrants for Willie G. Williams III, 32, for first-degree murder, breaking and entering with intent to commit murder, malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and additional charges are pending.
Williams, of the 4400 block of Waldor Drive in Richmond, was involved in a single-vehicle crash outside the Richmond Metro area. Williams remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
