CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Chesterfield County Police recently completed a traffic enforcement operation in the Chester and Enon area.
From Oct. 31 through Nov. 6, additional officers patrolled the area, focusing on pedestrian safety, speeding, reckless driving, red-light running, impaired driving and mobile device use while driving. Officers patrolled Route 10 and Route 1, along with several connecting roads, including Chester Road, Harrowgate Road, Curtis Street, Osborne Road, Rivers Bend Boulevard and others.
During the operation, police stopped a total of 425 vehicles. Police issued 458 summonses for a variety of traffic-related offenses, including speeding, reckless driving, cell phone use while driving and failure to wear a seat belt. Officers also handed out 39 pedestrian safety cards during 46 pedestrian safety talks with community members.
As always, police encourage all motorists to buckle up and drive safely and all pedestrians to be visible to drivers, wear reflective clothing, carry a flashlight and cross the roadway in well-lit areas.
