CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA — Chesterfield County Public Library (CCPL) will soon begin the process of replacing the current Midlothian Library, which will nearly double in size. The existing location will close at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, to start the demolition and rebuilding process. The new library is expected to open in the summer of 2023.

The Midlothian Library opened to the public in 1980 and was renovated in 1995. The existing structure is 15,000 square feet and the new building, to be built in the same location, will be 25,000 square feet.
