CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Chesterfield County Police have arrested a suspect in relation to a hit-and-run crash that occurred in the 8100 block of Hull Street Road on Feb. 2, 2022.
At about 6:12 a.m. on Feb. 2, police received a report that an adult male was found lying on the right side of Hull Street Road. Upon arrival, rescue personnel and officers located the man, who was later identified as John A. Everett, 61. Everett, of the 2300 block of Phaup Street in Richmond, was deceased at the scene.
At this point, the investigation indicates Everett was crossing the eastbound lanes of Hull Street Road when he was struck and dragged by a vehicle that left the scene. Evidence recovered at the scene indicated the suspect vehicle was a 2001-2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer with front and passenger-side damage.
With help from the public, police were able to locate the suspect vehicle, which was found to be a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer owned by Dwayne L. Robinson, 36. After further investigation, Robinson, of the 1900 block of Powell Road in Richmond, was arrested and charged with felony hit-and-run in relation to the crash.
