CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Police have arrested a suspect in relation to a shooting that occurred in the 12200 block of Chattanooga Plaza on Sunday, Nov. 6.
At about 6:58 p.m. on Nov. 6, police were called to the 12200 block of Chattanooga Plaza for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police discovered an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries; at this point, the victim remains in the hospital and is expected to survive.
Police have arrested Justin O. Gay, 27, for malicious wounding, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in relation to the incident. At this point, the investigation indicates that Gay, of the 1200 block of Trenton Place in Washington, D.C., met the victim and others to distribute illegal narcotics. During this transaction, Gay shot the victim.
