CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Chesterfield County Police have obtained warrants for two suspects in relation to a fatal shooting that occurred at the Tropicabana located at 4900 Route 1 on Feb. 12, 2023.
At about 2:46 a.m. on Feb.12, police were called to the Tropicabana at 4900 Route 1 for report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police found an adult male, identified as Maison R. Smith, 24, suffering from a gunshot wound. Smith, of the 9300 block of Emmett Road in Henrico, was transported to a local hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries. At this point, the investigation indicates Smith was shot during a fight that took place outside the Tropicabana.
Through investigation, detectives have identified and obtained warrants for two suspects in relation to this shooting. Detectives have obtained warrants for Gustavo Papalini Dosreis Neves, 19, for second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and for Estenban Alejandro Flores Marquez, 23, for reckless handling of a firearm and being an accessory after the fact in a homicide.
Gustavo Papalini Dosreis Neves, of the 10700 block of Mountain Ash Drive in Henrico, was apprehended in Newark, N.J., and he remains there in custody on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer at this time. The Chesterfield warrants have not yet been served on him.
Estenban Alejandro Flores Marquez, of the 4200 block of East Prestonwood Avenue in North Chesterfield, was arrested in Chesterfield County today and he is currently in custody at the Chesterfield County Jail.
