CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Chesterfield County Police continue to investigate a fatal crash that occurred in the 3200 block of Old Gun Road West on Tuesday, April 11.
Around 5:47 p.m. on Tuesday, police said, a BMW was traveling north on Old Gun Road West when it entered a curve at a high rate of speed and its driver lost control. The vehicle traveled several hundred feet, struck a retaining wall, overturned, and caught fire. The driver and passenger were both trapped in the vehicle. Both were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The identities of both victims, who were in their teens and attended James River High School, are being withheld pending a positive identification by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
