Chesterfield County Named No. 16 Leading Fleet

General Services

Chesterfield County Fleet Services, a division of the Department of General Services, has been named the No. 16 Leading Fleet for 2023 by Government Fleet Magazine, the highest ranking ever for the division and its second appearance in the Top 20 within the last three years.

David Cottingham, Kenny Crew, and Ronnie Coleman accepted the award on behalf of Chesterfield County during the recent Government Fleet Expos in Dallas. The recognition follows Chesterfield’s fifth consecutive year being tabbed as one of the 100 Best Fleets when the county was ranked No. 50 overall by the National Association of Fleet Administrators last month.

The organization is just one of 11 public fleets and only one of two in Virginia to be a Top 20 Leading Fleet and one of the Top 50 Best Fleets in 2023.

“Consistently being recognized by our peers as a dynamic industry leader with over 38,000 public fleets is very impressive and speaks highly of the quality of work that we all do and the direction we’re headed,” said division manager Craig Willingham, “specifically when it relates to our commitment to teamwork, responsibility, accountability, customer service, and knowledge, as well as our dedication to sustainability efforts and process improvements. We are all proud of this recognition and the important role we each play when servicing our customers, who support the needs of the citizens and visitors of Chesterfield County.”

The division plans to celebrate this recognition as a team later this year.
