CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Chesterfield County Police have released the identity of an infant who died after she sustained life-threatening injuries on Thursday, Dec. 27.
Police said Ashley Bonilla-Rodriguez, age 7 months, arrived at Chippenham Hospital after a reported fall on December 27 and was admitted to the hospital with severe head trauma. Ashley, of the 3000 block of Lancers Boulevard, was transferred to VCU Medical Center, where she died as a result of her injuries on December 30.
The child's babysitter, Lirio Jazmin Godinez-Gonzalez, 33, also of the 3000 block of Lancers Boulevard, was arrested by detectives on December 28 for felony child neglect. She is being held in the Chesterfield County Jail pending a court appearance today.
