What types of safety measures are in place for victims?
  • Victims of domestic related offenses are initially connected with the Victim Witness Assistance Program, and with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office pending trial.
  • Following trial, victims are referred to the Domestic and Sexual Assault Resource Center and other community programs for information and safety-planning.
  • Advocates are available to provide individual counseling, support groups, and instruction for seeking protective orders.
