About Rockwood Park
The county's oldest park, this 171-acre site features a complex of ball fields and game courts, a Nature Center, an archery range, Ruff House Dog Park, orienteering course, garden plots and an extensive system of hard and soft surface nature trails. Other features include picnic shelters, play equipment, concessions and restrooms. These facilities, along with convenient location at Courthouse and Hull Street Roads, make Rockwood Park a popular choice for numerous recreational uses.

Ruff House Dog Park Rules
Ruff House Dog Park is open 7:30 a.m.-dark. All vehicles must be parked in the paved parking lot across from dog park; vehicles not parked in paved lot will be towed at owner’s expense.
Dog owners are legally responsible for their dogs and any injuries or damages caused by them. Each dog must have proof of current license and rabies vaccination. Dogs must be under voice control at all times.
All dogs must be on-leash until inside the fenced area. Dog owners must carry a leash at all times and closely supervise their dogs. At no time may the owner exit the fenced area without their dog. Gates must be kept closed except when entering or exiting. Remove pinch, spike and choke collars from your dog prior to entering fenced area. No children under 10 years of ages are allowed in the fenced area. Older children must have adult supervision.
Dog feces must be cleaned by owners. Dump stations are available for disposal. No plastic bags or trash in dump station. Use water house to wash off dump area. Owners must fill any holes their dog digs.
The following are not allowed in the fenced area:
- Dogs in heat
- Ill or injured dogs
- Puppies under 4 months
- Dog treats or rawhide chews
- Animals other than dogs
- Aggressive dogs
- Bikes
- Alcoholic beverages
- Food or glass
- Any motorized device except wheelchairs
